Mediation creates a safe environment in which to have difficult conversations around issues that may arise with aging. Through mediation, participants are empowered to make decisions that work for them.
Calendar of Events:
September 13, 2011. Carolyn will conduct a workshop for the Maryland Council on Dispute Resolution on "Ethical Challenges in Elder Mediation."
March 7 - 11, 2011. Carolyn conducted a three day Elder Mediation Institute. at Northern Virginia Mediation Services, Fairfax, Va. to expand the skills of experienced meidators into a growing specialty field. Future training, contact training@nvms.us
April 9, 2011 Carolyn presented "Planning for Aging - Dealing With Issues" at the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities Caregivers' Conference to an overflow crowd.
June 1, 2011 - Carolyn presented a Bank Tellers Training program, "You Can Prevent Financial Exploitation of the Elderly" at the Bowie Senior Center, sponsored by PEACE Coalition, Protect Elders against Crime & Exploitation.
June 29, 2011 - Carolyn presented and also conducted a practicum at "Ethics Consultation & Beyond: A Primer for Ethics Committees" at Harbor Hospital, sponsored by Maryland Health Care Ethics Committee Network; Law & Health Care Program, University of Maryland School of Law.
